Josh Mulford Architects, in collaboration with Rodney Moss and Sally Hieatt Interiors, create a family farmhouse a property on the Monaro Plateau, adjoining Canberra.
The project pairs a new pavilion with a restored late-1800s stone cottage, linked to form a cohesive whole that frames view across the rugged and spectacular landscape.
The pavilion contains the living area and master bedroom within a lightweight steel-framed structure, while the service areas are enclosed within taller precast concrete panels which complement the original cottage stonework. Guest and kid bedrooms are reinstated within the existing stone cottage, as sleeping quarters.
